I am Mohamud Mohamed Ahmed, Founder and Chairman of Green Hope Movement (GHM)—a youth-led environmental organization headquartered in Garowe, Somalia. Since establishing GHM in 2016, I have dedicated my career to empowering young people and communities to lead locally driven environmental protection, climate adaptation, and peacebuilding initiatives across Somalia’s regions.
I hold a background in environmental management and leadership training and have completed several professional development programs focused on climate justice, youth leadership, and sustainable development. Under my leadership, GHM has trained more than 130 climate ambassadors and established Community Climate Committees across Puntland and Khatumo to strengthen community decision-making on resource management and environmental protection.
